Fabric Notes

  1. Decorating fabric
Decorating fabric is designer fabric, medium weight fabric (approx 7-8 oz. per sq. yd) or heavy weight fabric (more than 8 oz. per sq. yd) - suitable for drapery or upholstery.
  2. Fabric care
The care instructions will be provided by manufacturer or need to be care by the professional drycleaner.
  3. Jacquard: A fabric with an intricately woven pattern, having many complexly arranged elements; elaborate, such as  Damasks, Brocades, Tapestries.
  4. Half Drop Repeats
Not all printed fabric have the same type of vertical repeat. Add an extra repeat for every cut needed is the safest and easiest way to determine the yardage on a half drop repeat fabric.
  5. Laces

    1. Laces are open weaves and will not hold an exact shape
      2.
Most laces will stretch and need a re-hemming after installation
  6. Linens
Linens are susceptible to wrinkling and some ironing may be necessary to remove creases.
  7. Lining & Interline
       1. Add insulation
       2. Privacy is assured
       3. Light or Noise is eliminated
       4. Protect your carpet, furniture and drapery caused by the sun
       5. Regular lining filters light
       6. Thermal lining (have rubber back) lets light in but blocks out much of the heat
       7. Blackout lining blocks out all heat and light. Blackout lining is heavier and more substantial than Regular lining or Thermal lining, your room will be totally dark when the draperies are closed. For the bedroom, it will create the perfect environment for sleep if you don't want wake up early or you are sleeplessness. Also if a room faces direct sunlight in the morning or in the afternoon you may wish to use a blackout
  8. Plaids, Stripes woven or printed fabric

    1. Tend to be not squared (plaids) and could appear bowed (stripes)
      2. Your window treatments with straight edged (cornices, roman shades, etc.) can be a problem. Consider railroading the fabric to minimize the problem.
  9. Silks
Silks are natural fibers and may contain some irregularities (Flaw and variations in dye lots, slubs and shading). These irregularities are considered part of  natural beauty and elegance of silks and may NOT BE acceptable for all clients
  10. Quilting fabric
Quilting fabric is cotton designer fabric, light weight fabric (approx 2-4 oz. per sq. yd) - suitable for crafted or quilted project (patchwork, quilt, apparel, pillow or curtains)
